Suma Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the Suma app, appsuma.pl, and API services connected with accounts, synchronization, Premium, and AI features.
Last updated: July 22, 2026.
Service provider and contact
Suma is provided by Paweł Stawikowski, plac Cukrowni 1/2, 83-130 Pelplin, Poland. For questions about these Terms, your account, payments, errors, complaints, or privacy, contact [email protected].
What Suma is
Suma is a personal-finance app for tracking accounts, expenses, income, categories, budgets, settlements, recurring payments, assets, and simple analyses. It helps organize information, but it is not a bank, accounting firm, or tax, credit, or investment adviser.
Suma does not retrieve bank history or ask for online-banking credentials. If you enable notification reading, the app may read notifications only from apps you select, under the Privacy Policy.
Account and security
- You must be at least 16 to use Suma independently. A younger user needs permission from a parent or guardian.
- You may use some features locally without an account. An account is required for synchronization, Premium, push notifications, and selected server features.
- Provide an email address you control and protect your password and device.
- Do not share access with anyone who should not see your financial information.
- If you suspect unauthorized access, contact [email protected].
Technical requirements
You need a compatible Android device and a version of Suma distributed through Google Play or an official testing channel. Account, synchronization, AI, import, OCR, maps, push notification, and Premium features require an internet connection.
Some features also require Google Play services and optional Android permissions, including notifications, access to notifications from selected apps, or location. Refusing a permission disables that feature but should not prevent basic local budget tracking.
Forming and ending the agreement
The agreement for local features is formed when you launch the app and accept these Terms. The account and server-service agreement is formed after successful registration. A Premium purchase is concluded and billed by Google Play under the terms shown before purchase.
You can stop using local features at any time by clearing app data or uninstalling the app. You end the account agreement by deleting the account in Suma settings or submitting a request under the account-deletion instructions. Account deletion does not cancel a separately billed Google Play subscription.
We may restrict or terminate server access if a user materially violates these Terms or the law, creates a security risk, or abuses the API. Where circumstances allow, we will first explain the reason and allow the user to respond.
Local data, synchronization, and backups
Information entered in Suma is your data. You are responsible for its accuracy and for deciding whether to synchronize it. Cloud synchronization is optional and supports transfer and recovery between devices.
We cannot promise uninterrupted operation of the app, device, Google Play, network, or API. Regularly export important financial records and store backups securely.
Premium and payments
Premium is billed through Google Play. Pricing, billing periods, trials, cancellation, renewal, and refunds follow Google Play rules and the information shown at purchase.
The app sends the purchase token and product information to the API to verify entitlement. Premium access may be limited if Google Play reports expiry, cancellation, or another subscription issue.
AI, OCR, imports, and suggestions
AI features may analyze receipts, import files, notifications, categories, and aggregated financial data. Their output is assistance, not a decision on your behalf. Verify amounts, dates, currencies, and categories before saving.
Do not upload files you have no right to process or documents containing another person’s sensitive information without a lawful basis.
Notification reader
The notification reader is optional and requires separate Android permission. Enable it only for apps whose notifications you want Suma to analyze. Banking and payment notifications may contain amounts, merchants, recipients, balance fragments, or other private information.
You can disable access in Suma or Android settings. After disabling it, Suma should no longer read new notifications.
Location and maps
Location features are optional. Search results, addresses, and the last known location may be inaccurate. Verify them before saving, especially when location affects reports or settlements.
Settlements with other people
If you record a settlement or send a reminder, you are responsible for the recipient email, amount, and note. Do not use the feature for spam, harassment, or content the recipient should not receive.
Acceptable use
- Do not bypass limits, security, payments, or access controls.
- Do not attack the API, automate abusive traffic, or use Suma unlawfully.
- Do not upload malicious files, forged purchase tokens, or data you do not have rights to.
- Do not use Suma as the sole basis for tax, credit, investment, or accounting decisions.
Availability and changes
We may develop, change, limit, or discontinue features for security, stability, maintenance cost, Google Play requirements, or product direction. We will try to provide reasonable notice of material changes to paid features.
The service may experience technical interruptions, errors, Free/Premium plan limits, or third-party limitations.
Liability
Suma does not guarantee the accuracy of imports, OCR, AI, locations, exchange rates, asset prices, notifications, or reports. Make decisions using information you have verified.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for data loss caused by device failure, app removal, missing backups, incorrect input, Google Play problems, third-party interruptions, or use contrary to these Terms.
Complaints
Send a complaint about Suma, your account, or the digital service to [email protected]. Include the account email, a description and date of the problem, app version, and the outcome you request. Do not send your password or complete financial information unless it is necessary to investigate the issue.
We will acknowledge and answer a complaint without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receipt. If more information is needed, we will request it from the sender.
Governing law
Polish law governs these Terms. This does not limit mandatory consumer rights under the law of a consumer’s habitual residence. Disputes may be heard by a competent common court, and consumers may use available out-of-court complaint and redress procedures.
Account deletion
You may request deletion under appsuma.pl/en/account-deletion or by emailing [email protected]. We may verify that the request comes from the account owner.
Deleting a Suma account does not cancel a Google Play subscription; cancel it separately in Google Play.
Changes to these Terms
These Terms may change as Suma evolves. The current English version is available at appsuma.pl/en/terms. We may show an in-app notice or email account holders about material changes.
